The annual population growth rate in Armenia has remained close to zero in 2017
Fertility levels are much lower in Armenia than in lower-middle income countries, more aligned with higher-income country groups such as the EU (1.6). This represents a strong change from the rates observed in Armenia in the 1960s (4.7), well above the average for countries of Europe and Central Asia/ECA (3.1).
